My Story

In just 80 minutes—the duration of a single rugby match—27 people in the UK will have been diagnosed with dementia. This condition currently affects over 944,000 individuals across the country. When someone dear to us lives with dementia, it impacts us all, shaping our lives and communities.

This is why the Leicester Round Table is stepping up for an incredible journey. We will be walking 32.8 miles from Welford Road Stadium to Franklin's Gardens, not just as an act of endurance, but as a show of solidarity. Our goal? To energetically support the mighty Leicester Tigers in their clash against the Northampton Saints at the thrilling East Midlands Derby. More than just fans, we are everyday people, united by our love for the Tigers and a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

About Dementia UK

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
